Labyrinth and Dark Crystal Manga

The last volume of Return to Labyrinth is finally out! It's been over a year since volume 3 came out, but we can finally learn what happens to Toby, Sarah, and their friends in the Goblin Kingdom. Also out this month is Legends of the Dark Crystal volume 2. It's been an even longer wait for this book, the first volume released in 2007. And I've heard Tokyopop isn't planning to continue the series. That's to bad because Labyrinth and Dark Crystal are two of my favorite Jim Henson films, and I have enjoyed being able to return to those worlds and experience new adventures.

.

While at the book store I also got Rosario+Vampire Season 2 Volume 2, and Negima! 27. I got The Lightening Thief because I just watched the movie today, and needed 4 dollars more to be able to use a coupon I had. I enjoyed the movie, so the book must be a pretty good read.
Here is the beginning of my post. And here is the rest of it. Read more On "Labyrinth and Dark Crystal Manga"!

Revoltech Vash the Stampede

The Vash Revoltech figure I ordered from J-List came in. This is my first Revoltech figure. It's a great figure, but can be a pain in the ass to pose due to all the joints. Still it's probably the best Vash figure out there. I also ordered the May issue of Comptiq with Vash. It came with a Lucky Star pillowcase.

More after the jump.....

I tried setting up some of the poses featured on the back of the box. This is my favorite pose, but the wall he's sitting on doesn't fit very tight on the support base so he falls over very easy.

Also, for anyone with their own Vash and trying to replicate this pose. I has to pull the shoulder joints out some in order to get his arm to bend to the proper position.

Behind the back shot! Reminded me of episode 9 with the robot sentries, although the pose is different in the anime.

And we'll end the photo shoot with Vash wishing everyone Love and Peace!

Very awesome AMV for anyone who hasn't seen it, though I suspect most have already.

Here is the Comptiq I ordered.

I ordered it for this pillowcase of a a pink haired Kagami dressed as Miku Hatsune, and I just love the way Miyuki looks in the background.

Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern Costume

Entertainment Weekly has a pic of Ryan Reynolds in his Green Lantern costume for the upcoming movie. I believe the costume is supposed to be completely CG and in my opinion looks hideous. If you look at this large version of the image at Collider it looks like the mask is actually part of his skin as you can see the pores on his face. The same with the costume it looks like his neck starts to turn green and flow into the odd muscle design of the suit.

Anyone actually like the design of the suit? Or do you think they should of stuck with a more classic look from the comic?

Thor, Odin, and Loki in Costume

The LA Times has posted this first look of Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) in costume, Chris Hemsworth has been shown in costume previously. I like the Odin costume, but I think they really should of kept the horns that Loki sports in the comics. I'm hoping they just didn't add them for this image, and they are actually featured at some point in the film.

What are your thoughts on the look of the cosutmes?

Green Tea, Pepsi, and Okonomiyaki

Some snacks I ordered from J-List came in yesterday. I bought some Okonomiyaki Sauce, Green Tea poweder, and BoaBab Pepsi. The Pepsi is a limited edition flavored with the BaoBab fruit from Africa. I haven't tried the green tea yet, but the Pepsi was really good. I wish I had ordered a couple more.

And of coarse if you have Okonomiyaki sauce, you need some Okonomiyaki to put it on. I made it using this recipe at Okonomiyaki World. They also sell ingredient kits to make your own. I made mine using some sausage, ham, mushrooms, and green onions. I had enough to make 3, but they are kind of hard to flip. The one pictured is the only one I didn't have break apart when trying to flip it.

Anyone else ever tried making this or another dish they heard about in manga or anime? Which manga or anime was that made you want to try it? I think it was Ranma 1/2's Ukyo character that first got me wanting to try the dish.

Max Factory Tamaki Kosaka

I got the new Max Factory Tamaki Kosaka in from JList a couple weeks ago. Just now had time to get some pictures up. If your not familiar with Tamaki, she is a character from the To Heart 2 visual novel.

More after the jump.....

Of the To Heart 2 characters she's my favorite, and this is the second figure of her I have purchased. The first one was a cast off figure included in an issue of Dengeki G's Festival.

In my opinion this is one of the best Tamaki figures out there. The figure was sculpted by Eliot with help from Hiroki Katayama, and they did a terrific job. The paint job is exceptional as well.

No matter the angle this figure looks good. Any other Tamaki fans out there?

I've got another figure coming in the next week or so, a Revoltech Vash the Stampede. That will be my last figure for a couple of months, because I'm planning to go to Animefest in Sept. Need to save up for that. Anyone else planning to attend the convention?
