New Genshiken Manga Announced

The November issue Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine announced that Genshiken will be returning as Genshiken Nidaime. Apparently it will pick up where the previous manga ended with Ogiue as the club president trying to bring in new members. Genshiken is one of my all time favorite manga series. If your not familiar with the series it is about a college anime club, The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture or Genshiken for short. The club has members that cover almost all aspect of Otaku culture including anime, manga, eroge, model building, cosplay, dojinshi, and even yaoi. If your a big fan of anime your likely to see a part of yourself in at least one of the characters. I highly recommend reading it, and can't wait for the new manga series to come out.

Cool, I have watched the first anime. will watch the second anime and then I'll probably read the manga from the part the anime ends.

If your starting from the end of the first season, you need to get the 3 volume Kujibiki "heart" Unbalance anime which comes with episodes 13, 14, 15 of the Gensihiken series and then watch season 2. Or you can also buy Gensihken DX which contains season 1 + the 3 ova episodes from Kuji-un.,c=right-stuf,v=right-stuf,i=awdvd1041,a=zirocs-blog

The anime and manga have their own unique endings, so I'd suggest reading the whole series and not just the chapters that are different from the anime.

I really didn't get the whole Kujibiki Unbalance thing. afaik it's a fictional anime in Genshiken, but got it's own anime because of genshiken's popularity. right? Is it related to Genshiken itself? If it's not I might skip it.

Kuji-Un itself is not related to Genshiken, but each volume contained an episode of Genshiken that takes place between season 1 and season 2. But like I posted above the Genshiken DX set contains those episodes if you don't want to get Kuji-Un
