Halo Anime Announced
A trailer for an anime based on the Halo game franchise was shown at Comic-Con last week. The anime is called Halo Legends, and will be a collection of short stories similar to The Animatrix and Batman Gotham Knight. Microsoft will be showing previews on XBox Live this fall with the full DVD and Digital download release coming in 2010.
You can view the trailer at Game Trailers
Anyone looking forward to this? If it does well it might rekindle the live action movie project.

New DVD and Manga Purchases
A few weeks ago Right Stuf had a 40% off sale on Bandai Entertainment products. Took the opportunity to pick up Lucky Star DVD vol 6 and the first volume of the manga. I really liked the cover of the DVD with Konata and her Dad on an outing being watched over by Kanata.
Also picked up Kanon volumes 3, 4, and 6 which they currently have for 7.00 each.
Went to Wal-mart Tuesday and got the Watchmen Blu-ray. This was a really good movie. If you haven't seen it then I highly recommend it.

I won $100
I just won $100.00 from Blingo! Blingo is a search engine that gives out prizes just for doing searches. The search results aren't as good as Google, and this is the first win I've had in over a year using it. But it's worth using every now and then just to see if you might win something. Plus every day you search gets you 1 entry into a drawing to win 100,000 a week for a year. Another nice feature of Blingo is if you refer someone and they win one of the instant win prizes by searching then you win the same prize. That means Brent from OLS also won $100.00
Now I can defiantly afford that Ichigo Morino Dakimakura I was eyeing at J-List.

School Days Episode 1 Patch Released
Sekai Project has released their fan translation patch for the Visual Novel School Days from Overflow. School Days is a very unique Visual Novel as it uses full animation to tell the story, as opposed to the static images other VN's use. This patch only translates Episode 1, but Sekai Project hopes to have Episode 3 or 4 out by the end of the year.

Odd Products From Japan
Was checking out the new product feed for J-List and came across this somewhat disturbing USB mascot. You simply plug Rocky into your USB port on your PC or laptop, and he will start doing crunches until you unplug him. That's not whats disturbing about it though. I mean does it look to anyone else like your plugging his dolphin into the USB port? And Rocky isn't the only character you can purchase.
You can also get Apollo Creed
Mr. T's Clubber Lang
And the most disturbing of all 3 different versions of Elmo.
Elmo White Shirt
Elmo Yellow Shirt
Elmo Blue Shirt

The Girl At The Video Game Store
In commemoration of Attack of the Show's 1000th episode, song writer Parry Gripp recorded a new song featuring AOTS hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn. The name of this song is "The Girl at the Video Game Store", with Oliva starring as the "Girl" and Kevin on drums. The song is actually quite good.
Congratulations, AOTS on your 1000th show. I hope you have 1000 more.
Lyrics
Down at the mall.
Is the one who's got it all
The answer to my prayers
Just two doors down from Sears
I was surprised
Because they mostly higher guys
She's the girl
She's the girl at the video game store
She's smart and she's sweet
And she knows all of the cheats
Her thumbs are lightening fast
At Tekken she'll beat your ass
She was nice to me
She helped me buy my Wii
She's the girl
She's the girl at the video game store
I was alone
playing by myself
Oh and I was alone
There must be something else
Then she gave me her code
Now she's on my friend list
Oh my heart
I hope this joy is never endin'
I was alone
Playing by myself
Oh and I was alone
There must be something else
Then she gave me her code
Now she's on my friend list
Oh my heart
I hope this joy is never endin'
(Olivia - You should really get the membership card. It's only $15. And, it comes with a free magazine subscription)
(Guy - I totally want that.)
She was nice to me
She's my Final Fantasy
She's the girl
She's the girl at the video game store

New Manga and a Game
Picked up some new manga. Bought the Fruits Basket Ultimate Edition Vol 2, which is a hard back and contains volumes 3 and 4 of the manga. Also bought Rosario+Vampire volume 4, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya volume 3, Negima!? Neo volume 2, and the final issue of Shojo Beat
Got Prince of Persia for the Xbox 360 for only 14.98. The Monroe, LA Target had it on clearance. Played it up to the Concubine boss, and it's a pretty good game so far. Never played any of the other Prince of Persia games, so don't really know how it compares.

Shana Season 3 and OVA Announced
It has been announced that the anime series "Shakugan no Shana" will continue with a OVA followed by a 3rd season. "Shana" is about a girl named Shana who fights Denizen's of the Crimson Realm. During one such battle a boy named Yuji is killed, but because his body contains a special treasure he does not disappear from the world like others who are killed by Denizens. Shana decides to protect Yuji because she knows the Denizens will try and take the treasure from him and use it to further their evil goals. Spending time Yuji though begins to unlock feelings within Shana she is not familiar with, having been raised from a young age solely to fight Denizens.
I only recently watched season 1 of "Shana" and am glad they plan on giving the series a conclusion, and not leaving it open as some shows do when the manga continues on past where the anime ended.
Nakayama Nobuhiro says about the upcoming OVA and 3rd season in the current issue of Animedia.
We launched “Shana Project” with a view to ending the Shana anime series. Before moving on to the third season, we need to describe the backgrounds and the relationships between the characters more in detail. So the project began with the OVA series.

New Mangagamer licenses
Mangagamer has announced the acquisition of the Visual Novel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
'Higurashi when they cry'
We proudly anouce that we have started the localozation of 'Higurashi when they cry'. We have been getting a lot of requests from MangaGamer's fans to localize the title. We are very excited and happy to be able to relaese this best seller title from MangaGamer.com.
We target to release the title by the end of October. Please stay close with our release schedule.
According to Visual-Novels.net Mangagamer has also acquired the rights to Shuffle!. That's two really high profile games that I thought would never see the light of day officially in English. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the download only policy of Mangagamer, prefer to own the box, but if they do a good job with these two titles I might change my mind.
