Space Paranoids Available Free Online

Encom's classic arcade game Space Paranoids is now available to play for free online at http://www.spaceparanoidsonline.com/. Space Paranoids was a created by Encom employee Kevin Flynn. The success of the game sent him up the corporate ladder to become CEO. Unfortunately Flynn mysteriously disappeared in 1989. There have been many claims of people seeing Kevin Flynn over the years, and there are many of us who still believe he's out there. You can keep up with news concerning Kevin Flynn, and even help in the search at FlynnLives.com

Encom Badge Arrives

My Encom security badge arrived from Flynn Lives today. It came with a message saying I could use the employee ID# to log onto the Encom website. The login URL for anyone with a badge but no access to a cell phone capable of scanning QR codes is http://www.encominternational.com/login.aspx. There is reference to an upcoming press conference in less than 3 weeks that Nerd Society believes is in reference to Wondercon in April since Disney will be there promoting Toy Story 3 and Prince of Persia.

Anyone interested in getting a badge they were given out for figuring out the names of all the video games represented in the picture at this website, Arcade Aid. You need to log in with your Flynn Lives id. They are only giving out badges while supplies last.

News on TR2N

Beaks at Ain't It Cool News got to talk to TR2N Director, Joseph Kosinski.

1) Lisberger is involved as a consultant. Kosinski couldn't be happier about this. He mentioned that Lisberger (and, presumably, Syd Mead) initially wanted the light cycles to have external riders, but they couldn't convincingly pull it off with the technology of the early '80s. So those light cycles you saw in the Comic Con test footage essentially reflect Lisberger's original design.

2) The Comic Con teaser was shot in stereoscopic 3D, and the film will be, too. Kosinski is particularly excited about the look of the game grid in this format.

3) Shooting TR2N will be a "twenty-four month" process, but Kosinski's already been at it for a while now. He didn't give me an exact date, but he seems confident that the movie could be ready for late 2010.

4) As we reported last week, WATCHMEN's Michael Wilkinson is designing the costumes. He officially joins the production this week.
